About Me
I am Dr Yvonne Williams, a BACP-accredited psychotherapist with over 15 years of experience working with individuals from both the public and corporate sectors. I provide counselling and psychotherapy for people experiencing PTSD, anxiety, depression, trauma, and other mental health issues.
My practice is integrative, drawing on a variety of approaches including trauma-informed therapy, CBT techniques, existential and humanistic perspectives, and other evidence-based methods. I am also trained in
Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing
(EMDR) and work as an approved provider for
AXA, AVIVA, BUPA, WPA, and VitalityHealth
insurances.
I hold a PhD from the University of Leeds, where my research explored the psychological impact of systemic racism on mental health. This academic background, combined with my clinical practice, informs a compassionate, trauma-informed approach that helps individuals
manage PTSD, anxiety, and depression, while supporting personal growth and overall wellbeing.
